| Homeless Shelter
San Benito County offers two types of homeless shelter programs. First,
the transitional homeless shelter operates year round. Second, the winter
emergency homeless shelter program, which is open during certain winter
months. The following provides additional information about these programs.
Transitional Homeless Shelter
San Benito County Community Services and Workforce Development operates
a six-month transitional homeless shelter in conjunction with Community
Services Development Corporation. The transitional shelter program works
with families who are homeless and seek to secure permanent housing. The
program provides services for parents to seek and maintain employment
or to gain the skills necessary for obtaining employment. The program
emphasizes the parents developing the financial resources to obtain permanent
housing to move into after completion of the program. Assistance is provided
in locating and securing permanent housing.
